Winter Asylum chapel wedding
Lauren & Joe, Winter Asylum chapel wedding
Lauren and Joe held a Winter wedding at the Asylum Chapel in London. The Asylum in Peckham is a well known London wedding venue. It’s well known mainly because it’s incredible. It’s rustic, dilapadated and beautiful. But Lauren and Joe are not people to be outshone by a venue, theirs was super stylish day, funky, vibrant, fun and real. Lauren works as a stylist everything looked very cool but also very unique. A Vivienne Westwood dress, gold Rupert Sanderson shoes and a Joyce Jackson veil and yes, bridesmaids in burgundy jumpsuits.

We started the day in Peckham where Lauren got ready and moved from the Asylum Chapel to the Garden Museum on the South Bank. I love Winter weddings in London. There is nothing to fear if you’re thinking of holding one. London has so many great venues and spaces to move between, as the day proceeds the ritual of putting on coats moving on to the next venue and settling again becomes fun. The guests get to know each other in taxis or hired red buses and the flow becomes part of the day. Also Winter light is perfect for photography. On this particular day it was overcast but that just serves to pop out the colours that were on offer. The burgundy of Joe’s tie, matching with the jumpsuits the bridesmaids wore. So the above photos were just a few but in case you want the whole thing, let’s start from the beginning. The month is February and the town is London; or in slightly more Dickensian English, it’s was a Winters morning in London town:

If you would like to view more weddings this Winter wedding at the Royal Hospital Chelsea is stunning and also this floral burst of a wedding at Petersham nurseries.

Beautiful work David.
