Rhodes House Wedding Oxford

Rhodes House wedding Oxford

Emma & Nates stunning Rhodes House wedding in Oxford. Emma is from Oxford and met Nate there when they were at Magdalen College. Nate is from the States and this was a wonderful coming together through their friends of many nationalities. I always love a wedding where the overall feeling is one of human connection and commonality over anything. Maybe all weddings represent that but it was certainly true on this day. I met Emma and Nate for an engagement shoot in Oxford a few months before the day and we immediately hit it off.  They’re super calm, warm and friendly and this is exactly how their day felt.

Rhodes House as a wedding venue is absolutely stunning. The domed roof over the circular entrance hall is just the start. The main hall is huge. Not just a large floor print but I mean a super expansive space with an incredibly high ceiling giving the ceremonies that take place there a sense of reverence. The sounds echo out, the sandstone arches up in wonderful arch at one end of the hall and the light pours in from large windows along the side.

The day itself had a great flow. We started with getting ready just outside Oxford at Helens mums house. And through the day we moved through the venue as things progressed. During the reception it was very hot but luckily the garden has lots of shade from a variety of trees.

A few highlights from the day are below.  If you would like to view more weddings at this venue please do get in touch.
