Rachel & Carl, Cowley Manor
Rachel & Carl’s beautiful Cowley Manor wedding near Cheltenham. Cowley Manor is a jewel in the Cotswolds and as luck would have it, one of the closest venues to where I’m based in Cheltenham. For weddings it’s perfect as it’s surrounded my some of the most inviting parkland you could imagine, like a natural version of a Capability Brown designed garden. There are lots of beautiful nooks and crannies but most notably the centre piece is a beautiful Italian style water wall (and fall) at one end of the lake. Water falls from sculptured faces into a pond several metres below. On this day we were blessed with glorious sunshine almost too bright and we managed to sneak out for a few portraits just before dark. As an aside if you are having a Summer wedding the best time for portraits is the sunset, but not just because the light is softer but because you’ll both be fully into the swing of the day and in the perfect frame of mind. Rachel & Carl took a brief walk and you can feel the moments between them. I make a big emphasis with all my clients to enjoy the moment fully and let whichever emotions are there to play out naturally.
