Daylesford Farm Wedding
Katy & Charles’s wedding at Daylesford farm, Heritage House, Cotswolds
A beautiful wedding at Daylesford Farm in the Cotswolds, in full sunshine, the perfect weather for a Cotswolds celebration. We started at a traditional church replete with a gospel choir and an amazing performance with everyone joining in towards the end.
When I photograph classic feeling weddings my aim is the same as at all weddings, to capture natural moments and portraits and react to the flow as it happens. This can still mean simple portraits with couples facing the camera and these photos are still super beautiful as long as the atmosphere is relaxed.
The brilliant Lillingston planned the day so all the details were perfect. Heritage House, the largest barn at Daylesford looked incredible with hanging blossoming silver birch branches above the tables and pastels in the linen. Dancers performed during the drinks reception. The venue backs onto a stunning orchard so the views are amazing for a wedding setting. The day was captured on analogue film and digital, 35 mm and medium format on the film front. The sunset cast beautiful colours which film loves. The bridesmaids wore their own colourful dresses and the chaps looked stylish in black tie.
After dinner the speeches took place. Although the space is nice and large, when filled with the tables and decor an intimate atmosphere forms as stories are relayed. More music and dancing and the guests were also treated to some amazing table magic.
The dance floor had the feel of a New York club, red lights and disco balls. The space in the adjacent barn to Heritage house is perfect for the music and the dance floor. If you’re getting married in this tranquil corner of Moreton-in-Marsh, I would love to hear from you, get in touch here.
