Kew Gardens Weddings, Kim & James
Kim and James, London, Kew Gardens Wedding
This was a stunning day in London at the iconic Kew Gardens. I don’t think Kim stopped smiling pretty much all day. James wore a classy white jacket. The florals were classic green and white from Blue Sky Flowers. We had the luxury of being driven around the ground to take some portraits in other venues within the garden grounds. In particular Temperate House one of the world’s most famous glasshouses with beautiful palms forming the backdrop for the wedding portraits as well at the exterior glass also.
The Nash Conservatory was the chosen space for the ceremony and the stunning Orangery was used for the reception and dancing. Luckily the weather was kind to us and we used the lawns for the cocktail hour and some of the speeches took place outside. A growing trend is to split the speeches with early ones happening during the drinks outside. This creates a lovely relaxed feel for the speeches but also brings people together in that warm collective way that only speeches can achieve.
Kim changed into a second dress in the evening and wore an incredible silver sequin dress that created all the sparkle in the room. I love seeing what brides change into in the evening and fashion has always been something I love to photograph.
The brilliant planner was Emma at Emma Joy Weddings and the band were Young Guns Group and drew everyone and I meant everyone onto the dance floor.
