Savile Club wedding, London
Laura & Nick’s beautiful Savile Club wedding in Mayfair London, a sneak peek.
As a venue the Savile Club is very special. There are beautiful moments through the day where parts of the venue are discovered. The ballroom upstairs in particular, is a world away from the reception rooms on the ground floor. An ornate blue and gold room with a painted ceiling and stunning curved staircase leading up to it. It features heavily below, it’s the perfect pool of light for photography. The whole day had atmosphere, style, fun and energy all the elements I love to photograph in a wedding.
Laura looked amazing in a flowing silk Luna Bea dress. The flowers from the day all came from her mothers garden and designed by Jam Jar flowers. The day culminated in a fantastic dance floor on the courtyard outside with a 90’s vibe and everyone fully engaged and dancing. I love weddings where everyone is totally immersed in the music. The energy reminded of Rowan and Johns wedding at Painswick House. If you are having a Savile Club London wedding I would love to be there for you. Enough of the talking, here are some of the highlights.
The staircase below is so stunning, which is why I’ve pictured here several times. There are of course a plethora of moments with the guests. When I’m confronted by such an array of colour, light and floral design I’m naturally inclined to show those images. In the portraits lower down there are a mix of film and digital images. Sometimes the organic nature of a film shot contains is own beauty that can’t be created in any other way. On the day I also use a small point and shoot camera for unguarded moments on the dance floor, again it has it’s own unique beauty and colour. Not always perfect but that’s the point. The images are always about feeling over anything else.
