Chloe & Rob’s Sudeley Castle wedding, Winchcombe
Sometimes the feel of the wedding and the chosen venue are a perfect match. Chloe and Rob are super stylish making classic touches feel super chic. Sudeley Castle is grand venue but at the same time each of the spaces feels just the right size. The gardens are large but divided up into beautiful well designed areas. From each area you can still glimpse the original ruin giving the whole venue a magical feel. As if many ancient stories have been played out here (which they may well have given it was Henry the eighths getaway when he needed some downtime). The day itself was stunning, guests mingled in the venue grounds and luckily the sun shone. Not just in the afternoon either, the evening provided us with pink skies lighting up the front terrance like an enormous Balearic villa.
Luckily I live in Cheltenham which is a stones throw from the venue so on this occasion I was able to meet with Chloe and Rob before the day and we walked around the venue getting to know each other. I’ve said it before but before photography for me is not really about photography, it’s how people react to me and to each other. It’s up to me to capture that. If it happens on a point and shoot or high end camera is incidental the moment is what matters not the lens or the technical side of things. Magic is always there.
